The shortened 2020 season did not stop Sodikart continuing its path at the forefront of international competition. For this 2020 edition of the World Championship at Lonato, the Sodi Racing Team was able to maintain its position at the front of the KZ category, as shown by the new podium for Bas Lammers. At the same time, the satellite team CPB Sport lined up 12 drivers in KZ2 with exceptional performances.

Frenchman Bertrand Pignolet is at the head of one of the world's leading kart manufacturers. The Sodikart company, founded by Gildas Mérian, divides its activity between rental karting and manufacturing competition chassis. Sodi karts have shone at the highest international level in KZ and KZ2 while increasing their presence in all other categories. Sodikart is also involved in the organisation of races through its 3MK Events department. This interview with Bertrand Pignolet was conducted in April 2020 while COVID-19 was paralysing a large part of the planet.

The strong growth of the Sodi chassis in international competition was particularly well illustrated during the 2018 Winter Cup. With its 17 KZ2s, Sodikart was the second best represented brand at Lonato in the advanced category, strong proof of the interest aroused by the performance of the French factory. Anthony Abbasse's 2nd place and Adrien Renaudin's top five confirmed the excellent level of the Sodi even though the major classic proved very difficult this year.
