Frankfurt am Main. After a strong start to the season at the Arena E in Muelsen, the DKM travels on to Genk in Belgium. The ‘Home of Champions’ circuit has been part of the race calendar of Germany's top kart racing series for many years and again promises great karting. Cemil Bayyati (DJKM), Daniel Vasile (DSKM) and Juliano Holzem (DSKC) will compete as championship leaders. The supporting program includes the Mini 60 Series by Chrono Karting.

Not far from the German-Dutch border, the categories of the German Kart Championship will find their continuation next weekend. The 1,360-meter-long race track in Genk, Belgium, offers a perfect backdrop and the fields are top-class. Over 100 drivers will be competing in the four categories - some of them the best kart drivers in the world. Kean Nakamura-Berta (TB Racing Team) will celebrate his premiere in the DKM - the Japanese-born driver won the 2021 FIA World Championship OK Junior title and was successful in the FIA European Championship in the OK class last year. Since this year, he competes in the shifter karts and faces the top drivers from the DSKM (KZ2) in Genk.

There is also a great interest in the DMSB Shifter Kart Cup - 44 participants have submitted their entries which represents the largest field at the weekend. The categories are rounded-off by the German Junior Kart Championship (DJKM). Despite an attempt to announce the DKM (OK class) with a shortened program, there was only a small interest of participants, and the class will also be suspended in Genk.

In the supporting program, the youngsters from the Mini 60 Series by Chrono Karting will be represented again. After the great success in Muelsen, the guest series will start at all outstanding rounds of the DKM. In Genk, the single-race event feature sees an increase to 20 drivers in the field.

DKM partner O-ROUGE presents Kart simulator
Also in 2023, the German Kart Championship is supported by the Belgian simulator manufacturer O-ROUGE. The sim racing experts have their production facility not far from the track in Genk and will be presenting their kart simulator this weekend. In this, all participants can prove themselves in a time attack - the fastest can look forward to attractive prizes. Of course, all visitors are invited to experience the realistic driving feeling of the simulator.

Live timing, live stream and social media accompany the DKM
In 2012, the DKM was the first race series worldwide to start with live stream and eleven years later, it again presents extensive coverage. Starting with the heats on Saturday, all events will be live-streamed on www.kart-dm.de. At the same time, the social media presence will be expanded this year. To this end, there will be live timing as early as midday on Friday - also at www.kart-dm.de.
